Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information TradeCoach ("we", "us") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the TradeCoach browser extension, companion mobile app, website, and related services (the "Service").

1. Information we collect

• Account data: your email address and a securely hashed password.
• Waitlist data: if you join the waitlist, your email, any optional context you provide, and coarse attribution (e.g. a UTM source or referring site).
• Trading-plan & coaching data: the strategy, setup criteria, risk rules, sessions, trades, journal entries, quiz results, and coaching interactions you create in the Service.
• Chart context: when you use chart analysis, images or numerical chart data you submit are processed to generate coaching. Screenshots are used to produce analysis and are not used to build advertising profiles.
• Brokerage credentials (optional): if you connect a brokerage, the API credentials you supply are encrypted at rest and used only to provide the features you enable.
• Device & usage data: app/extension version, feature usage events, approximate latency and cost metrics, and — if you enable notifications — push tokens.
• Phone number (optional): if you enable SMS discipline alerts, your phone number and verification status.

2. How we use information

• To provide, operate, and improve the Service and its coaching features.
• To enforce the discipline rules and limits you configure.
• To secure accounts, prevent abuse, and enforce rate limits.
• To communicate with you about beta access, updates, and support.
• To understand aggregate usage and control operating costs.

3. Legal bases (GDPR)

Where the GDPR applies, we process personal data to perform our contract with you (providing the Service), based on your consent (e.g. SMS alerts, notifications, waitlist), to comply with legal obligations, and for our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service.

4. Service providers & sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with vendors that help us run the Service, under contractual confidentiality and data-protection obligations. These may include:

• a payment processor (Stripe) for subscriptions and billing portal management;
• cloud hosting and database providers;
• an AI model provider that processes coaching prompts and chart context to generate responses;
• a brokerage/market-data provider, only if you connect one;
• a push-notification provider and an SMS provider, only if you enable those features.

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.

5. Data retention

We keep personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, then delete or anonymize it according to our retention schedule, unless a longer period is required by law. Waitlist entries are kept until launch onboarding or until you ask us to remove them.

6. Your rights & choices

Subject to applicable law (including GDPR and CCPA/CPRA), you may access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. The Service provides:

• Export: download a machine-readable copy of your data from the account/data screen.
• Deletion: permanently delete your account and associated data (email-confirmed, cascading hard delete).

You can also opt out of notifications and SMS at any time. To exercise any right, use the in-app controls or contact privacy@tradecoach.dev. We do not sell or "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures including encryption in transit, encryption at rest for sensitive fields such as brokerage credentials, hashed passwords, access controls, and rate limiting. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children

The Service is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. International transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

10. Changes

We may update this Policy; material changes will be posted here with a new date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
